I purchased one of these about 3 years ago and really love it -- in addition to tracking the mileage and pace, it also shows a graphic map of where you've been (rudimentary, but it's fun to look at). I got lost once walking a 5K race when everyone else had passed me and couldn't find the checkpoints so proving my distance was a problem -- no more with this.
The only problem I have with it is that it (of course) won't work indoors (it's a GPS and depends on satellite line-of-sight - can also be a problem when in a deep woods). Regular pedometers just don't seem to do it for me so if you've found a good reliable one that will work indoors and out, let me know! _________________ Travelling the world one city at a time....

I see that it has been over a year since this was posted, but i have just joined! I love my garmin as well and really appreciate having my mileage recorded rather accurately. It's a great toy and a great tool.
My other "tool" that I like is my waistpack with a built in water bladder. I drink a LOT more with this than with any water bottle I have used. I don't have to stop to drink, I can take small sips all along rather than a big gulp or two from the bottle, and I feel much more hydrated. _________________ Splashing
